West Hollywood may no longer be under a lockdown, but there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding 2021’s Fourth of July festivities. While not all events are a go for Independence Day, there are plenty of cities near West Hollywood that are planning spectacular fireworks displays. So, if you happen to be in WeHo for July 4th, there are many exciting ways you could celebrate this patriotic holiday.
For starters, the Hollywood Bowl is planning one heck of a show with pop superstars Kool & The Gang. After swinging to some 1970s hits, spectators will enjoy a fireworks display with live orchestral music. While Kool & The Gang will play both July 3 and 4, seating is limited. Be sure to order your tickets on Hollywood Bowl’s official website if you’re interested in this concert.
Another fun July 4th event in the Hollywood area is an outdoor screening of the 80s hit Dirty Dancing. After watching Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey sway away, you’ll get to watch a dazzling fireworks display over Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Note: This is a ticketed event, so be sure to reserve your spot on Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s website.
If you’re a Universal Studios fan, then you’ll be happy to know the famed Hollywood theme park is hosting a fireworks spectacular on July 4th. According to the latest reports, park-goers could expect fireworks to light the sky at 9 PM.
For those interested in traveling further afield, Big Bear Lake will host its fabulous Fourth of July fireworks display between 8:45 PM and 9:15 PM. Best of all, this event is free to the public.
A few other areas that have announced Fourth of July fireworks include Long Beach, Catalina Island, and Marina del Rey. In these three cases, fireworks will start at about 9 PM, but spectators should arrive well in advance. Indeed, Marina del Ray authorities say visitors should plan to stay from 1 PM through the end of the fireworks.
Lastly, if there are any soccer fans out there, you could buy tickets for a thrilling LA Galaxy v. Kansas City game on July 4th. After the game, look above Dignity Health Sports Park for a riveting fireworks celebration.
Of course, all of these events are subject to change before July 4th, 2021. Please double-check with local authorities to verify the times for these celebrations. If you have friends with fireworks please be safe and do not get injured. Also, remember to follow the latest CDC health guidelines for a safe and responsible July 4th celebration.
